Makin’ Music Part 1

Necessity is the mother of invention, and while the commercial outlet for creativity has been stifled, people are ever-ready to innovate to stave off lockdown boredom and do something fun.

So it was that, after a chat with my old mate Ryan Barquilla, with whom I use to play in Tom Likes Dogs, The World’s Greatest Covers Band*, and decided to get the band back together in lockdown. It seems odd that, with the four members of the band in Essex, London, Newcastle and Berlin, it was a good opportunity to get the band back together, but there you go – that’s definitely one good thing about t’internet.

So here you are – our first “live” “reunion” of 2020, twelve years after we last played together! With a little Easter egg at the end for those listeners d’un certain age. And with luck maybe there’ll be a few more to follow.

Enjoy!

I'm a science fiction writer and podcaster. My debut novel Man O’War was published in 2018 by Snowbooks, and I’ve had a few short stories published here and there. I also host Chronscast, the official podcast of SFF Chronicles, the world's largest science-fiction and fantasy community. Away from writing I work for the UK Space Agency on a programme of space robotics for advanced satellite and planetary exploration technologies. All of which comes in rather handy when coming up with new ideas for science fiction stories.
