Ok, this is starting to feel quite real now. Jessica Clark, who played the vampire queen Lilith in HBO’s epic sexy horror show True Blood is going to be taking the star role of Naomi the kokeshi in the forthcoming dramatisation of Man O’War.

As Lilith, a supreme being who was beautiful and dangerous in equal measure, Jessica was wonderful as a character fathoming out her purpose, her body and her identity in a strange and hostile world. I think she’ll be an excellent Naomi, another beautiful and dangerous creature in her own right who experiences many similar painful evolutions and realisations.

Away from writing I work for the UK Space Agency on a programme of space robotics for advanced satellite and planetary exploration technologies. All of which comes in rather handy when coming up with new ideas for science fiction stories.
